Let's face it; blogging takes time. A lot of time. And when you first start blogging, you may not see a lot of results. If that's the case, it's easy to become discouraged and want to quit. If you ever feel that way, here are some reasons why you need to make blogging a priority.
1. It's the best way to drive traffic to your site.
You may be doubting that at the moment, especially if your blog is new and you don't get much traffic, yet. Bear in mind that it takes time to build up good traffic, so it's unlikely that you'll have instant results from blogging, but if you stick with it, there's no better long-term approach to building traffic than blogging.
2. It's a great way to build trust.
Blogging can help you build trust with readers and potential clients and customers better than much of anything else. The only thing that I think can beat it is face-to-face time, but that can be hard to come by, and you may never even get face-to-face time with people until they can first built trust with you through a less threatening way such as by reading your blog posts.
3. Blogging is a great way to bring clarity to your life and business.
I find that the more I blog, the clearer the priorities of my business become. For instance, as I started growing my blog, the clearer my target audience became, and the better I knew what types of products and services I need to promote.
4. Blogging is a great way to become known as an expert in your field.
The more you blog, not only do you build trust, as mentioned above, you also have an opportunity to show your expertise, and that helps people to see you as an expert.
5. Blogging helps to build your platform.
A platform is something you stand on to be heard. The more you blog, the bigger crowd you draw, and the more people there are listening to what you have to say. This is very important for authors, but it's also important for anyone with something to say or sell - which means, most anyone.
